How often should you water a basil plant?

yes basil can be transplanted into the ground.  Normally basil can last for two growing seasons.  I would ceck the soil level before watering.  If in a pot, it won't need quite as many waterings, than if in the ground.  Anyway, poke your finger in the soil and if it seems dry about 1/2" down in to the pot, then water;  in the ground a couple of inches.
