How often will ferrets be vicious towards a human?

i am looking to buy a ferret butt my parents are concerned about them being to vicious to have as a pet. is this true and how can you prevent it?

They arent vicious at all.  They are the sweetest animals ever.  Seriously.  The only time they "bite" is when playing and it hurts less than a kitten play bite.

Ferrets can be aggressive, and they can play pretty rough.  They 'play' bite (then they twist around, boy! that owies!)

Before you buy a ferret, do some research about their care.  They are quite a responsibility.  More than a kitty or puppy. He/she will need shots for rabies, distemper and other things.  And he or she will need to be neutered or spayed.

Before you get your ferret, practice learning how to properly hold one. That will make a BIG difference in what kind of pet he will be.  If you hold him properly, he feels secure and you'll enjoy him a lot more.

Ferrets can be fabulous pets and are loads of fun to watch and play with.

that is sooo not true! ferrets are NEVER vicious, some may bite, but if you buy one that bites, say 'no' firmley at it when i bites. it really does work.

my mom has 5 ferretts believe it or not. and i've watched her raise em all..really ferretts arnt vicious they just tend to play around alot by bitting on your fingers and hands. and when you dont want them to do that just began flicking them in the nose not too hard but you know where they can feel it because thats what my mom did and now they just bite when you make them (playing wise) but they are going to scratch alot they have very sharp nails. and really nothing can do bout that except go get em cut but yea....thats what we do with our ferretts
