How often would I need to administer water and or pedialite to my dog for parvo?

I have taken my dog to the animal hospital, and they hydrated him, and gave me medication to combat the parvo

  1. your vet should have told you. i hope you arent trying to treat this yourself. but the dog should always have as much as it wants.


  2. Call your vet and ask what is right for your dog. You need to be aware though that home treatment is rarely successful for Parvo. You need to get your dog to the vet and get him on fluids there right away to give him the best chance of survival.  Patient Paws is right. he needs medicating too. Chances are probably than 1% he will make it if you don't take him in.

  3. Have you seen your vet about this? Your dog needs to not only be on fluids, but the medications to help combat this disease.

    If you're "home treating" this, you may as well dig your dogs grave now, there is NO home cure for parvo. Its deadly 100% of the time when it isn't getting combative medication.

  4. As much as possible.  I would try every hour.
