How often would you have to change the ink cartridge on a photo printer (portable)? After how many pics ?

I was thinking to get a Canon Pixima or SELPHY not sure which model yet. Thanks

Canon Pixma iP5000 can get you an impressive number of photos (over 250 glossy 4x6's) with each color cartridge, and almost 300 photos with the black cartridge. You can't go wrong with Canon if you are trying to maximize the number of prints you get per cartridge.  Generally speaking they outperform Epson printers in terms of output per cartridge.
