  1. Are you doing an assignment ?

Go and speak to an agency.

No one is going to know the answers to those question for EACH Country

    come on

  2. Dawn Davenport has done a great job of collecting information about the most common countries with an international adoption program. Her web site is called Finding Your Child. She lists 17 countries - that should be plenty.

    Here is her web address:

  3. I love the way people never do their own research. They just come on here and expect everyone to do the research for them. If its a simple or specific question, then fair enough, but this is lazy!

  4. There are so many international adoption programs out there that it would be impossible to list the costs and ages for each program on this site!

In general, most internationally adopted children are between 6 and 18 months old at the time of placement with the adoptive family.   It is always possible to get older children, but highly unusual to be placed with a baby less than 6 months old.

The cost of travel is a huge factor in the overall cost of adopting internationally.   Russia is among the most expensive countries.....not because of actual fees, but because two trips to Russia are required.  The cost of most Russian adoptions exceeds $30,000.   From personal experience, I can tell you that it is possible to adopt from China for around $16,000.     Guatemala is around the same as Russia, because of the attorney fees.  Most of the others fall somewhere in between.

  5. If you're talking about international adoption there are probably close to 50 countries with international programs, each with their own requirements, costs and time frames.  Way too much information to list here.

I recommend the book "How to Adopt Internationally".  It has a great program-by-program section.
