  3. theyre like 8 or 9 years old they just give em steriods

  4. they say they are 16 but they're lying.

  5. one is 20, 2 are 16, and 3 are 14.

  6. The dude is right! Most are about 16, maybe 17, but it is said that one specific girl is lying!

  7. most = 16?

  8. <16

there is no way those kids are 16

    the youngest one looks 12

  9. They have to be 16 to compete...

but there is some controversy of them lying about their age

  10. shes 4ft 6 incsh cant be 16 they lied but all the countires cheat in some way

  11. The oldest one is twenty. But none of them look older than ten or twelve.

  12. 11

  13. yea this makes my blood boil! The one girl is like 4'9 with missing teeth...such as a 13 yr old!!! China blows

  14. they are only kids,  in their early teens

  15. they're soposed to be 16 to compete at the youngest. some chinese girls look wayy young but they're not.

  16. They all look like 10-12 yrs old but I think they have to be turning 16 in the yr of the Olympics.

  17. omg i know!!

    its ridiculous

they tried to make them look older with the eyeshadow but it didnt work

i heard someone on the tv say that in gymnastics there is only a certain amount of time that your body can take that kind of training and the younger they are the more they can train

    its so wrong

  19. Very young. I don't think quite that young, but there are people saying that there is no way they are 16. I think 13, 14 at the oldest, but they deffinatly should not be competing and should not have won the gold medal.

  20. And their "father" was the "female" diving champion in the 1990's

  21. They are all 14+

  22. I watched the olympics last night. One was actually 20, but she looked much younger. Also, I think a couple were around 16 or 17

  23. You know you can't really tell how old the Asian is. I'm a 32 years old Chinese from Taiwan. In the States, most of the people thought I'm around the age of 20-25. What the... thats like almost 10 years difference.

  24. Even their team leader is lying about her age.  She claims to be 20, but is probably only 17.  Why lie?  Because 4 years ago, when she was 13, she lied and claimed to be 16 in order to do the Olympics that year.  Now, 4 years later, she has to say she's 20.

  25. YOU KNOW, THEY LOOK SO LITTLE THOSE GIRLS ALMOST LOOK LIKE THEY COULD ONLY BE 6 OR 7 YEARS OLD... BUT THE MOST OF GYMNAST LOOK MUCH YOUNGER THAN THEY REALLY ARE BECAUSE OF THEIR TRAINING SINCE YOUNG AGE, THEIR BODY DOESNT DEVELOPE THE SAME WAY AS OTHERS.... THEY SAY ONE OF THEM IS 20 YEARS OLD BUT OTHER ONES SHOULDNT BE MORE THAN 16.

  26. They are supposed to be at least 16. I know there's some controversy about their ages, because they all look way younger than what we're used to. But I went to a school where the majority of kids were Asian, and they can be pretty tiny. It's genetic. Besides, my cousin was in gymnastics for 8 years and when she quit she was 14, 5'1, and completely flat chested. She looked 10. Combine that with the genetics, and you get little tiny gymnasts. I'm not saying that China's definitely not lying, but it's also very likely that they're telling the truth. What I'm trying to say is that we shouldn't be so quick to jump into conclusions just because the Chinese gymnasts aren't as big as our ideal size for teenage girls.

  27. They are actually 16 and the leader of their team is 20. In my opinion they really don't look like it. I find it hard to believe that is their real age, perhaps China is pulling some strings to get them to compete.

  28. 1 is apparently 14

    1 is apparently 20

    1 is apparently 16

1 we have no idea at all

    1 was apparently born on April 21, 1992 or May 22, 1993

and the last one we only know was born january 1

    Hope this helps :P

  29. the shortest chinese gymnast was really struggling on the bars and its no secert that the pressure is put on the kids as young as 4yrs old in china to succede, and i watched a doco on this awhile ago and the pressure so intense in china that if you dont win you are nobody in my opinion there is far to much pressure put on kids today to win at all costs and that means  lying and i heard a whisper that they pay huge amounts of money to doctor birth certificates so its all wrong you should let kids be kids and if they want to be great let them do it on there on without people interfering

  30. I think the minimum age is 16, but even people who are offering commentary and reporting afterward openly say that they don't look it. And I agree, they probably aren't all 16, but Cheng Fei the leader of the team does not look 20 at all even though she is.

I'm not really sure if that puts the other countries at a disadvantage.. because the younger you are, the less experienced you are, and thus the lower the difficulty you will be performing at, which means less points. Although younger children have more flexible bones, I'm sure that's not any competition for any of the gymnasts since they are all flexible. I think shorter gymnasts probably have an upper hand because you don't need to go as high up in the air, but at the same time taller gymnasts have more power to do that. So.. I'm not sure if that's a disadvantage or an advantage. I guess that's another question though.

    :)

  31. They claim to be 16 but they aren't...Theres videos on youtube that show one of them at a competetion less then a year ago and the announcer said she was 14
