  1. I don't know the origin of numbers, but I know for a fact that numbers comes a long way. Numbers were used in the Bible and that is a long time ago! Adam and Eve probably used numbers to like they had to know if it were like say two apples and five pears, you see . . .


  2. I'm guessing somewhere around 12,000 years ago.  But written numbers started when people used to make markings on clay tablets called cuneiform to keep track of what they traded.

  3. Our current numbers were created in India and Northern Africa around 400-500 BC.

    The basic characters and system probably started in India and then was further developed in Northern Africa. It spread to Europe during the middle ages.

  4. Cavepeople.

    I'm sure if there's a four or eight fingered/toed alien race out there, their "computer age" was much easier individually.
