How old before i can tell the s*x of my rats and hampster babies?

the hampsters are already eating and drinking water, they have fur and their eyes are open, their about 4 weeks old, but i cant tell if any of them are male or female....

for my rats their still pinkys but i mean for when they get a bit bigger how can i tell if their like the hampsters and its not easy...

  1. Hold them up, stomach facing you, and you should be able to see testicles if they are there.


  2. About 5 weeks and you should start to see whether they have testicles or not. This tends to be more obvious with the rats, because hamsters can retract them. They should be separated at this time to avoid breeding.

  3. Well a hamster puberty is reached at approxiamately 2 1/2 months so it should be around there.keep checking him to see if he has testicals.if its tighter.It is possible its a female.(No loose areas around the a**s) Good luck!
