I have a 15mth old, and am expecting another one by September. I have a jogging stroller and a carrier for my newborn, this is for the fall and winter. but I'm wondering since my son has been walking for a month now, how old is too old for a stroller? when do they want to walk everywhere, and when is a good time to stop putting them in a stroller or taking one just in case. Trying to decide if I should by a dual stroller in the spring... :P

  1. My little girl was 3 when she decided enough was enough and wanted to walk every where.

She was about 2 and a half when she use to get in and out of the buggy all the time ( very annoying when you're in a rush) so I use to use reigns on her also.

Try and get a buggy board which attatches to the back of the buggy near the handles or a buggy pod (cool) look on www.Kiddicare.com

  2. I would say go ahead a get the dual stroller (one that has room for the 15mth old to grow).

This is because even if he doesn't want to be in the stroller all the time, there will be times when the kids will need to be strolled (shopping mall, day trip outside, etc).

Also, it will be hard to keep a 2 year old under control while you're strolling the new baby even for short trips.

    Hope this helps!

    :)

  3. keep a stroller untill he gets to school age....he can walk at home...do you really want to chase your 15 month old around while juggling an infant? Keep him in the stroller in public or while jogging (can't see the little guy keeping up wiht your longer l;legs) and let him run at home where u can control his environment

  4. its not really the age, but when the child wants to walk instead of ride, which for some can be quite early!

  5. I just had a 2nd child 6 months ago and my daughter was 20 months old. I bought a double stroller and have never used it!!  I think it really is up to you,  if you like your child walking next to you or if you would rather them in the stroller. I will probably use mine at,  say the zoo or a fair because there are so many people there but other than that I won't!

  6. I would buy one just in case if you go on long trips or something. Children get very tired easily especially when they are first walking. Or you could buy one of the harness buddies that your local walmart sales and put that on him. They have a tail you can hold in your hand and it lets them walk a little ahead of you. My son is two and half and he still sometimes rides in a stroller. Its not very often but its a great idea when they are tired. He may see the other baby in one and say I want one so I would buy one just to be on the safe side

  7. No! Get the duo stroller. I have a 6 week old and a 2 1/2 year old and I go jogging with them in our dual stroller. My older one does great and likes to look around and yeah, I think your eldest would love it too.

  8. well i dont really know my parents say i was a smart baby and that i was walking at three months and having full conversations at six months

  9. you'll need to be about when they can walk. The normal age is 4 through 7.

Can you help me with mine?

  10. Well, when i was baby i used it until I was four, and now that I'm 86, I feel like using another stroller!

  11. i would just go ahead and buy a dual stroller. especially if he just walked last month he could get tuckered out quite fast if you are planning on going anywhere for a long period of time. my daughter was in her stroller until she was almost three because she got tired when i would go to a lot of places in one day.

  12. Get a dual or a stroller with the sit on the back for an older child. I have a 20 month old and a 4 year old and still use the stroller. It is great at the mall so I can keep the two of them together. It is a lot easier to watch 2 strapped kids than two running or even one running kid. Plus they get tired fast and usually want to sit down at some point.

Check this link, they have 2 models.

  13. I'll probably keep one til she's four. She's 2 1'2 now and it comes in handy when shopping at the mall for just for summer strolls through downtown or the neighborhood.

  14. He'll be in a stroller until he's 3-4. He'll be able to start walking around stores, etc. around age 3, but if you're at a zoo or doing a lot of walking somewhere, he'll need to be in a stroller.

  15. ok my 3 year old if we are goign for a hike/ long walk we take the stroller or the backpack for him as he gets tired.= its just a light umbrella. int he back of the car.

othyer than that in the store we put him in a cart so that he doesnt run off and pull things of the aisles!!!!

other than that he walks around pretty much

  16. If I were you, I would buy the double stroller.  My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and can't walk for a very long time and rides in the stroller when we go to the mall, fair, Disneyland, etc.  My son is 3 months old and lately I've been carrying him in the Snugli so my daughter can have the stroller.  I have a little umbrella stroller for her so my son can use the big stroller when I need it.

  17. My daughter is 4 and still loves to have me carry hear around everywhere. I don't mind, because some day she will be too cool for any time with daddy. :)

My wife won't carry her around, so I would say about 3-4 years old is too old for a stroller.

  18. get a dual stroller, he'll be in a stroller until he's about 3

  19. All depends on how quickly the child is developing
