How old can a boy/girl be left at home alone?

i have a 9 yr. old sibling and was wondering if he is old enough to be left alone at home. cz im not quite sure what the law says about it.

btw, my sibling was never left at home byhimself yet. we try to be responsible ;)

No i wouldn't leave my 10 year olds home alone its too young ..12/13 is about right depending how long your gone for

Depends entirely on the child,  and what the responsibilities would be if they were to be left alone.  Some are totally responsible at 12...some not til 16 or never.  It DOES  NOT  depend on age.

My parents didn't leave my sister and me home alone until I turned 12. I'm the oldest and by then I had gone through a baby-sitting course as well.

For a few hours should be fine depending on the maturity level you cna't leave her alone overnight thoug.

its like 12 for babysitting.. so like 10 for a short period of time nd 11 for long(not overnight though).. thats jsut me thought not the law

Even if the child is mature enough there are still laws against this.  You should look into your state laws and follow the guidelines.
