By the way, I live in Ohio, in the United States. I also want to know if it would be a good idea to go into the Airforce if I want to be a pilot?

  1. --No minimum age to begin flight training.

  2. Joining the Air Force is great but there's no guarantee you'll get assigned to flight school; that is reserved for the best and brightest, no offense intended. If you are sharp and maintain excellent grades throughout most of high school and college and show the aptitiude for flying you have a good chance.

You can go to a commercial flight school to get the ratings you need to become a commercial pilot. Its very expensive but student loans are available for that purpose. To work for a major ailrine as a pilot, you will also have to have a four year college degree and it can be in almost anything; doesn't have to be aviation related.

  3. Sixteen you can begin training but won't be able to get your license till you are 17

  4. You can start your flight training at any age (I started mine when I was 13), but you can not solo until you are 16 and can't get your private pilot rating until you are 17.  I would suggest that you go to your local flight school and take an introductory flight.

  5. you can start whenever

you just cant get your PPL until your 17

depends.if your from a "lower class" family and cant afford to build hours the air force is for you. If you want to be a airline pilot then the USAF may be more beneficial to you in the end.
