There is a day care facility about to open up and I was wondering how old I will have to be to work there. I think it will be a good summer job for next year. I am 15 but I will be 16 next year. I have also been babysitting for 3 years, so I have experience with all ages.

Thanks

  1. well i worked at a daycare since i was 13 and im working at 1 now and im 15 maybe it will work out give it a try. Good Luck!!

  2. I think you can get a summer job there at 16....give it a try

  3. It depends on the facility honey, What their state laws are, if your maturity level is there and you have what it takes to be a great caregiver for the children that should also play a good part in the position. Maybe you can volunteer first if they can't hire you right away. My son did that at youth facility here in Arizona.

  4. why don't you call and ask them?

  5. you should give them a call and ask them. if they start getting fidgety bring up the fact that you have previous experience.

  6. I was 16 when i started working at a  day care!

  7. It depends on the center and what kind of job you want.  If it is a teaching type center, then you're out of luck at 16.  If it's a drop in play care type place you may be able to do that.  I know places like Creme de la Creme and similar in Texas require the minimum of a bachelors degree to work there.

  8. Most places require certification before hiring. See if your community college has a course you can take.
