How old do people have to be to be a Police Officer?

Just a standered age, I kind of want to know?

  1. 21...due to federal gun laws, you cannot carry or purchase a handgun unless your 21


  2. 21 usually, 18 minimum

  3. Ages 18-21 you can only be a cadet.  At 21, you can then be an officer.

  4. You can enter the Academy prior to the age of 21, but must be 21 before graduating.

  5. 21, almost everywhere in the United States.

  6. Everyplace is different.  Federal Agents usually just have to be 18.  I graduated the Border Patrol Academy with a 19 year old.  It was rough getting them to admit him to a bar without threatening to check the staff's green cards.

  8. At least 21 (generally, sometimes 18) by the time you graduate the academy.  There are limits too, depending on what Law enforcement agency.
