It's 14 and 9 months in Australia, but you most definitely do NOT need a permit from the school. First jobs are usually in the food business. So if I were you I'd go for McDonalds or Hungry Jacks or something like that, because they're always on the hunt for youngin's and don't mind training you either.

but, if you're looking for something less stressy and higher class, try a grocery store or maybe even something that suits your personality like a music or fashion store.

16 is the legal working age here in the United states. No, you don't need any kind of permit or permission from your school. I would just make sure you have a reliable transportation, for to-and-from that job.

The best job? Is probably retail, look for stores that you like to buy from and hang out at, then ask if their hiring. If its your first one, try a movie theater! That was mine! Always fun and free popcorn!

it depends on what state you live in... im 14... & where i live you need to be at least 14 with a permit from school... and i have/had/in process of getting paperwork signed by my parents, doctor, and employer before i can work... most places wont hire 14 year olds... grocery stores are good... not fun... but its somethin.
