If you're 13 or 14 ...

On school days you can only work up to two hours a day, one hour before school and one hour after school. In the school holidays you can work up to five hours a day by for no more than 25 hours in a week and for two weeks of the school holidays, you cannot work at all. On Saturdays, you can work up to five hours and two hours on a Sunday.

If you are in the uk you have to have  work permission from the government, I am not sure how you get this but it is illegal for you to work under the age of 16.The person who offered you the work should know this already.

You can work once you're 13.

You can only do "light work" (meaning from a health and safety perspective) so I guess selling posters would be classed as light work.

There are laws that apply regarding how many hours you may work (see the link below) and it's important to note that minimum wage does not apply to you.

In Canada: You can work at age 15 with parental permission, 16 without.
