They were showing a group of potential new young staff around the Tesco's when I was last in. One of the girls smiled at me and gave me the glad-eye. Nice. Good luck. Tesco's are good employers.

When I worked in a supermarket, for the 1st year I was stacking shelves.

when I was 17, I was still stacking shelves but also allowed to work the tills, when I was 18 I was out of work because of Margaret Thatcher's new Britain.

Yes. its definately 16 and you must have left school. They are quite good to work for but i dont think you are allowed to work the night shift until you reach the age of 18. I'm not plugging tesco but they have good procedures to follow and the training is good. They wont let you out on the shop floor until you are happy in yourself that you are ready to go and meet the general public. Good luck when you reach 16. Hope you get in to whatever it is you choose to do. x
