How old do you have to be able to get a debit card?

I am 16. I have a bank account with a lot of money in it and I want to have a debit card on that account.

Just go into your bank and let them know that you want one.  Some  banks may not have them but most do.

well...  i think it depends on the bank. i have USAA and i got mine when i was 13. so i think there are different plans for it.

If this account is a checking account, then go to your bank and ask for one.  If you don't have a checking account, then you will most likely need one of your parents to open one with you and then ask for a debit card just for you.  You can open a savings account by yourself at 16 but not a checking account.

It depends on the bank you do your transactions at but the majority of banks is the age 18 to get one by your self and 16 with a guardian.

ask ur bank, they sometimes have an age limit. i was told i could get one when i turn 14, but i haven't got one yet.

I would say the best person to ask is someone at the bank. If they won't give you one b/c of your age then ask one of your parents to get you one. My guess would be 18 though. I didn't have an account til I was that age so I really don't know.
