  1. You can start at any age, but you can only start logging hours after age 14, solo at 16, license at 17. You need 45 hours for a UK PPL.

  2. I started gliding when I was ten years old. I moved onto powered gliding when I was about 13 with cadets. Powered gliding is basically half way between a normal glider and a small light aircraft. Although you cannot go solo until you are 16 in the UK for gliding and powered gliding. I am not sure if it the same applies for light aircraft but you can learn to fly as well as glide, and go solo at 16 in the Air cadets.

  3. No minimum age to take flight lessons.

16 years old to fly solo - (sole occupant - no passengers or flight instructor on board).

17 years old to get a private pilot certificate (NOT a License - no such thing).

If you have the time and $, and meet the age requirements, you can learn and get a Private Pilot Certificate in + or - 30 days.

Minimum flight time requirements are 40 hours, 20 dual, 20 solo.

Must pass a written, oral and practical tests.

  4. i think you can start when you are 14

and i think its like 100 or 1000  hours

but the lessons are really expensive!

  5. You may start taking flying lessons at any age; however you must be at least 16 years of age to  fly an aircraft solo (alone).  You need 40 hours of flight training before you can take the written exam for a private pilot license.  Once you have passed the written exam you need to take a flight test with a FAA flight examiner.  You can contact AOPA.org to find additional information on how to become a pilot.

Very interesting side note:  7% of the population are licensed pilots.  Less than 5% of all people are left handed.  50% of all pilots are left handed.

  6. There is no age minimum for flight lessons.

There is no age or flight time requirement for taking the written examination.

There is no age minimum for taking any practical test.

It takes about 6 weeks to go from zero to Private Pilot.

  7. Fourteen yrs to learn to fly,  to fly solo the minimum age is 16, to be granted a licence, the minimum age is 17.

  8. You have to be 16 to solo fly (get a licence) but if you go in a light aircraft with someone you could fly it while they are taking pictures, if you want...

    X=(probably about) 3 hours a lesson (about 10 lessons)

    :)
