I am 14 & I want a prepaid card from Chase. I have checked their website & did not find it helpful.

Also, if I am eligible, would it be under my parent's account? & does that mean they can check your purchases & give you money ect.

Sorry for all the questions & thanks in advance.

  1. The newspaper showed one of the credit cards that is easy to get because it has a $300 limit.  Kids go for this one. The newspaper showed that the annual fee to renew the card was $150.

Run the other way when someone offers you a "deal" like this.  What you want is a real credit card with a $2,000 limit where you have to pay a minimum of $15 a month on your purchases.  Unless you can get one of those, pay cash.  You may feel cool when you first get a credit card, but owning one doesn't make anyone cool.

When you turn 18 your parents don't get any say over your finances.  That's when you get a card.

  2. You can get one at any age.

  3. Debit cards can be approved at any age.
