  1. If you are a citizen of Canada, and live in Canada:

    Adoptions are governed by the law of the province. There is no general law of adoption for Canada.

    There are special rules if the child is First Nation.

    I reviewed the adoption laws of several provinces and not one of them specifically stated: "In this province you must be XX years to adopt." You really do need legal advice on this in your Province.
