How old do you have to be to apply for a shooting range lisence?

Ok my little friend is 14 and he wants to go to the shooting range.

Do u have to be a certain age or have a guardian to accompany you? Also If I want to buy him a firearm to go to the shooting range with how do I do that for him?

Most ranges require adult supervision if they allow minors to shoot

Many state have laws against giving minors under 16 unsupervised access to loaded firearms

If you want to buy him a firearm and his parents do not object you go to the gun store and spend your own money on a gun for him if your state allows it

You then give it to his parents

My range is posted no persons under 16 on the firing line unless accompanied by adult.(21+)

Most ranges will require an adult or guardian to be within normal voice control and reach of any minor on property.

As for buying you little friend one....

I think you can get 5 to 10 for that.

Don't even go there.

If you only have one firearm and you both go to the range

you can't watch him and shoot at the same time so its not a very smart move anyhow.
