  1. well um i guess it depends on how old your child is. Cause if she's like 9 then that's a little young. But if she's like 11 or 12 that's the age most kids start babysitting. At least that's what age I started babysitting at.

  2. Chronological age has nothing to do with it really, one has to be mature enough to take on the responsilbities of caring for other children.  Wanting to earn money for a video game system is in my book not quite mature enough.  If she wanted to earn money for her education that would be just about the right age.

  3. About 12 and up.

  4. The legal age is twelve to babysit.

  5. It depends on when their maturity level is high enough and even if they are taking more responsibility at home. When you see her just randomly picking stuff up around the house or offering to help with something or being mor emature about one of your desicions then that shows that her maturity level is high enough for it. She also has to be prepared for any situation that could occur while babysitting. Also the parent to whom the child she is watching belongs should decide if they think that your daughter is ready to take on the huge reponsibility of their child.

I hope this advice has helped you come to the right decision!

  6. the legal age is 12 but i started at 11

  7. Depends on what time of day and how long.  I only let babysitters 14 yo to baby sit for a couple hours during the day, 16 yo or older for evening or all day babysitting.

  8. You have to be 12 or 13. I think.

  9. It really depends what the law is where you live.

I started baby-sitting when i was 14, though. That's about the most common age.

  10. depends on your state and or city regs. i believe.  Also on the responsibleness and attitude of the child.  Like my 12 yr old niece would be a horrible babysitter, she's extremely immature and doesn't have any sense of responsibilities.  My other brothers 11 yr old has been babysitting for 2 years now though, and she does very well (and at times is called to babysit her older cousin, which really goes over well! :)

I'd check with the local regulations and see what they say the minimum age is (if they have one)  and let your daughter babysit once and monitor her if you can.  Go with her but make sure she understands it's her responsibility and job, you're not there to bail her out or help (and make sure you don't!)

  11. 12, but get her baby-sitter training first

  12. 10 or 12

my friend has been babysitting sense 10 now she is 12
