How old do you have to be to be a bartender?

How long does it take to get a license and how much does it cost? I live in Rhode Island, maybe age varies from state to state.

I know in Iowa you have to be 18 to sell liquor. I would say whatever the leagal age it is to drink there would be to be a bartender. Ok i looked it up and as long as your 18 you can bartend...

varies by state

in the northeast is varies larger states like ny,nj are 21, ma is 19, an i think pa is 18. so probably 18, since RI is a pretty small state.

I am pretty sure it varies by state. In Illinois I know you must be 21, and you don't have to have your license to bartend, it depends on the establishment.
