  1. In Florida, 16 years old is the age for bussing tables.  When I did it for CDB Italian Pizza, I was paid minimum wage but then got bumped down  to $2.13 + tip-outs from the waitresses that equalled out to be about the same amount of money.

  2. depends on the employer. some will hire a 2 year old for cheap labor. lol

  3. Here in Mississippi you all must be at least 3 1/2. with a permit. Can only work 4 hours per day. Upon reaching age 6 a boy is allowed to work a maximum of 9 hours per day. Girls the maximum is 7 hours a day. After graduation from school  or age 9 whichever comes first there are no maximums.

  4. It really depends on the state, I know when I was 14 I got a workers permit and was a busgirl at a resturant, but lots of places wont hire you without a workers permit or until you are 15 or 16.

  5. I have always heard 14 but I'm sure frm state to state it might change.

  6. depends on the time of day they need to fill the shifts..  young minors cannot work after a certain time of day during the school year..

my sister busses table once in a while at the family restaurant in town..  she is 15..

  7. 16 is the legal age to work full hours at a restuarant, but some 15 year olds can maybe work, but will only put in about 20 hours a week, (max)

  8. By U.S. federal law, you may obtain a work permit at the age of 14.

The legal restrictions for employees aged 14-16 are:

3 hours on a school day,

18 hours in a school week,

    8 hours on a non-school day, and

    40 hours in non-school week.

There are no restrictions for employees 16 years or older, in reguard to hours, but there are still restrictions on the type of work in reguard to operation of equipment.
