How old do you have to be to be in a major tournement?

The only majors you can really get into at any age are The Open and the US Open, because both of the have qualifying events that you can go through to get in. The PGA is only for professionals, and the Masters is pretty much an invitation only (based on ranking through the different tours).

In golf it's more about how good you are.  You can turn professional at any age, and as long as you meet the qualifications to play in the majors you can play in them.  You do have to be a pro to play in the PGA championship.  There are ways that amatears can qualify for the Masters though, like winning the US Amatear or the U.S. Public links tournaments.
