  1. surprisingly, if your with the cadets its only 15, but flight schools only accept people 18 and up

  2. around like 20-25 idk

  3. 18 -22

  4. 18

  5. I believe the legal age is 16 or above without an instructor in the right seat. You can fly younger than this, just not without an instructor. Most flying schools set the lower limit at 18.

  6. i think like 18 - 19

  7. Yikes...

This is governed by Federal not State regulations.  Current age limits are:

16 for a student pilot certificate

    17 for a private certificate

18 for a commercial cert (get paid to fly)

23 for an Airline Transport Pilot certificate

  8. 16 YEARS OLD

  9. Actually, I flew for a regional airline and to be a first officer (right seat), you only have to be 21.

You have to be 23 to be a captain. I didn't start until I was 30... so to have a 23 or 24 yr old captain was... umm... interesting.

  10. Pilots' licenses are issued by the federal government, so the regulations are the same in every state.

An amazing number of people, some claiming to be pilots, and some even claiming to be professional pilots, post incorrect answers here.  It's just amazing.

Anywhere in the USA, you must be 16 and pass the 3rd Class Medical exam to become a Student Pilot.  A Student Pilot may fly solo when endorsed by an instructor.

You must be 17 to secure the Private Pilot Certificate.

You should make sure you can pass the medical before you spend a lot of money on flight instruction.
