  1. Dang I thought Texans were born with a handgun...I'm so disappointed.

I think it's a federal law that a person must be 21 to purchase a handgun.

  2. You can still buy and legally possess a handgun at 19 in Texas, but not from a federally licensed gun dealer. FFLs are prohibited from selling anyone under 21 a handgun. You are unable, however, to legally carry a loaded handgun in public until you are 21 or older and obtain a concealed handgun license. You can still have it loaded and ready for home defense though.

  3. 21 from a dealer.....any age from a private seller

  4. 21 from a gun store

    18 from a private party.

( Edit 1) Yet AGAIN federal law only covers people engaging in interstate commerce dealing firearms, there is no federal law (nor any power in the constitution for one) for the federal government to regulate ownership at any age. All those laws are covered by the states.

  5. 21

  6. I believe the Federal Firearms Act stipulates that one must be 21 years of age, not under treatment or suffering from ANY mental disease, and no felony convictions.
