How old do you have to be to compete in the grand prix snowboarding competition?

Heyy, thats totally awesome that you want to compete!!

anyways, before jumping into the Grand Prix there are licenses and stuff you need first

im assuming your american (ill explain the canadian way too incase youre canadian like me)

*First The Grand Prix is a USASA [USA snowboard association] sanctioned event

with that being said you'll need a USASA license to compete.  The membership/license is $120 or $65 (dont remember which) and it is required to compete at the national level (ex. Revolution Tour and Grand Prix events)

ALSO! to compete in national level competitions (RT and GP) and world cup events you'll need an FIS [federation of international ski/snowboard] license.  You can ONLY get an FIS license if you have a USASA license/membership.  

another thing, the Grand Prix is invitational only so it won't be your first competition.

To be eligable for an FIS lisence you have be born in 1993 or earlier.  Thats 15 and older.

however, that just means you have 2 more years to own your skills.

Canadian:

same thing basically, but have to have a Provincial Team Membership

for example i have a AOS (association of ontario snowbaoders) membership/lisence i paid 100 for it.  and that means I qualify to get my FIS liscence.  

either way,  have fun :)  don't be discouraged at all because your 2 years short, think it as extra time to get better to do outstanding :)
