How old do you have to be to cross the border in a car? (Usa to Mexico)?

My friend misses her family alot in Mexico, and I was wondering with parent permission, how old do you have to be?

(we are both 15 and a 1/2 or so at the moment)

you could always go on bus, my sister did that when she was 16

She may travel to Mexico at any age, but 14 and under must have someone n the other side waiting to pick them up.  She does not need a letter of parental permission..unless she is actually an American citizen....this is required for NON-Mexican children entering and leaving Mexico.  However, no way would it be safe or appropriate for the two of you to go to Mexico without an adult.

who is driving? are you walking? you need passports and I don't believe there is an age requirement. Do not drive at night, and be careful.

I think you have to 18 or with a parent or legal guardian or someone who is 18 and some kind of legal document from your parents but i'm not for sure my sister went when she was 17 but she was married and with her husband and they took our cousin who was 15 and her parents had to sign temporary custody over to them
