How old do you have to be to drive a jetski in michigan?

I am from michigan.  You have to be 14 and have a boater safety liscence to ride alone.  Other wise you need someone on the back

You need to be at least 12 years old to drive a jet ski.

BUT...there are other limitations.

If you are under 14, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you were born after 1978, you MUST have a boater's safety certificate to drive a jet ski. This can be obtained by taking a class either online or in the classroom. I recommend classes from the Coast Guard Auxiliary or the Power Squadron.

In california its 14, otherwise you have to have an adult riding with you.
