  1. Most rental car places I've ever rented from, you had to be 25.

BTW - When you rent the car, don't get the extra insurance they try to sell you...it is a total scam to get you for a couple extra dollars.

  2. 21 or 25, depending on the company.

And no, you CANNOT drive a rental car with only a learner's permit.

  3. Legally the one that signs the lease is the only one that can legally drive it.. you have to be 21 i believe

  4. You will only be able to drive the car if your parents listed you as a driver on the rental agreement, and it usually costs extra $$ for drivers under 21.  Take along a good book, a PSP, or mp3 player.  Sleeping always makes the trip go by quickly, too.

update: that would be definite "no" if you only have a learner's permit.

  5. If you are not on the rental contract as a driver, you can't drive it. Most agencies require you to be 21 or 25.

  6. if you have a drivers' license you can drive the car.  I can't remember, but the company may ask your parents who's going to be driving it when they rent it, just for their records.
