Is it true if you're 17 you need a paren'ts permission to cross the border, if you're driving to New York, from Canada?

Im British born, but have a Canadian passport, and I have my driver's liscense. Is that all I need to present to cross into America?

  1. 18. And if you aren't 18 then you need a note from your parents giving you permission to go

  2. Pretty much that's all that's needed on the note.  Maybe getting your parents to give dates of when you're entering and exiting the states will help, because they can verify it.  Also, in case anything happens, get your parents to have their cell phone on so you can call them in case anything happens.  Make sure you have the passport and drivers liscense, if you have a birth certificate that would probably help, but won't be needed.  Just don't take anything stupid with you across the border.  That's where you'll get suckered more likely.

  3. If you are a minor, and 17 is still a minor, you do need permission from your parent or guardian.
