  1. It varies by state. In South Dakota, where I live, you only have to be 14 to get a learner's permit (drive with a licensed driver as passenger). You have to have it for around 6 months. After that you move on to a red Restricted Permit (at least that's how it is here), where you can drive by yourself but only from 6am to 11pm--if you're out later driving by youself and you get pulled over you get a curfew violation/fine. That's also why if you're under 18 in SD you can't work past 10 o'clock pm. At 21, your license turns blue which is an operator permit so you can go anywhere at any time. They color code the licenses for red, meaning you're too young to buy alcohol, and blue means you're at or over the age of 21. If you're 21 but you didn't get your blue operator license, you still can't get beer because they require it to be blue, in most if not all places.

  2. in South Carolina...

15- Drive with a liscenced guardian during the daylight hours

15.5- Drive during daylight hours, Drive with a guardian during nighttime

    16- Drive whenever

25- You can drive a rental car

  3. In Louisiana:

After becoming 15 and showing the DMV(Department of Motor Vehicles) your Driver's Ed. certificate, you can get your permit.  To get your permit, you must pass a vision test and two written tests. The written tests are one signs test and one multiple choice.  Both tests are covered in Driver's Ed. With a permit, you can drive from 5a.m.-11p.m. with a licensed adult 21 or over.  You can also drive with a sibling 18 or older with a valid license.

After you turn 16, had your permit for 6 months, and pass another vision test, you must pass a driving test to get your license. In the driving test, a DMV employee will test your operation of a vehicle.  They usually just take you around the block and back.  To have a license means that you can drive from 5a.m. - 11p.m. with or without any other person.

When you turn 17 the time curfew becomes invalid.

Don't know what state you are from but hope this helps,

    stev

  4. You need to be at least 18 to drive alone i think but younger with a passenger.

  5. it really depends on the state, in most states, you have to be 15 to get your drivers permit, when you have your permit, you have to drive with someone who is over 25 and that person needs to have car insurance, as well as the car owner. You usually can not get your license until you are 16. In a lot of states, you are not allowed to have underage passengers in the car with you after dark..but like I said, these laws vary state by state.

  6. In California you can get a permit at 15 1/2, which lets you drive with an adult in the passenger seat.  At 16, you can get a license to drive alone.

  7. 16 in Michigan

but you can start drivers Ed at 14 and 8 mos and get your permit at 14 and 9 mos

you can't get your full license until 16 and then you still have a curfew of midnight-5am unless your commuting to or from work, but you have full privleges at age 17 if you get the level 3 license
