How old do you have to be to get contacts.?

I am 12 and i hate glasses. but my mom says you have to be older and my dad says it is probably not good because my eyes are still taking shape. I just need someone elses opinion.

I got contacts when I was 13. I think your parents are just making excuses. Tell them that you need a professional opinion.

There is no age requirement to get contacts at all- this is personal preference.  I got them when they first came out on the market, which I believe I was in the 4th or 5th grade.
