How old do you have to be to get into bars/nightclubs in Mexico?

I am sixteen years old turning seventeen but when I go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I will be sixteen. The legal drinking age in Mexico is acually 18, although there are several exceptions and seldomly do they check ID if you look even close to 18. I might be going to the bars/nightclubs with a friend or possibly even alone. Do they accept bribes? I do look about seventeen years old. Do you think they will check my ID, and if so, will they accept it, and let me in? What is the acual age to get into bars and nightclubs? Please let me know if your speaking from experience or thought and how old you where if experienced cause it makes a difference. The more info and writting the better. Thank you so much in advance.

dude i visited cancun 2 years ago i was 17 me being from argentina dint now how old you had to be to get a drink one i asked a girl she said they will let you drink at the age of 5 years old. i dint need an ID Go And Have A good time in mexico. mexico kicks a55. and party with the mexicanas got dam they are so ********* hot.

ok. First of all, even THINKING of going to bars alone in mexico is a BAD IDEA!! always take someone with you, its just common sense. plus, you'll have more fun that way.

and to answer your questions, if you look old enough, it shouldnt be a problem, but it helps if you're with a group of girls, they'll usually let you right in.

i dont know about the bribe thing, but you never know, it is mexico....

whenever my friends and i go they never check our ids and even though i'm of legal drinking age there, i dont look anywhere near it.

as long as you look good they will let you in......they don.t check id.......when i was 16 i got into every niteclub i went to in acapulco, mexico city, and anywhere else i went...

18 is the legal age and you should have proof of ID, just in case.

legally 18 but i am 14 and i've entered to some .. and i've met guys that are 12 or 13 and they enter to night clubs so i guess you just have to dress older and thats it
