How old do you have to be to get into clubs in England?

Im going to be in england for new years with my girlfriend but she will still be 17 and im 18. So im just concerned that she will not be able to get into any clubs while we are there so could anyone tell me what age they will let people in at.

  1. The legal age for licenced nightclubs and bars is 18.

    Clubs in the UK are extremely strict due to the licence they have if they serve alcahol. Any busy nightclubs or bars will not let you in at all unless you can prove your age. Even accompanied by an adult or someone over 18, anyone below that age will not be allowed in.


  2. Jason O is exactly right. Don't bother using fake ID for your girlfriend either, it's a waste of money because staff are trained to recognise fakes. Most places will only accept your passport or driving license as legitimate forms of ID - when I was 19 I had a 22 year old boyfriend and the only ID he had was his birth certificate - even though he was 3 years older than me, he would be refused entry to clubs or unable to buy alcohol from the supermarket because they wouldn't accept his birth certificate, which you'd think would be the most valid form of ID!
