  1. 15 before July the 1st preceding the Competition:

  2. 16, but your chances of making it to the Olympics aren't very big.

  3. K.K that is mean. I htink you have to be sixteen or something to go

  4. Ever since the late 90's, you must turn 15 before July 1st of that given year. Even if you're born 1 day too late, no luck, you must go to Junior Worlds or at least enjoy the Grand Prix which allows skaters 1 year younger than the stipulated age for any other international Senior comp to compete.

Had the rule been started in 1998, Tara Lipinski wouldn't have been able to go. Sara Hughes competed at the 2002 Olys at 15 because she was born before the doom Zayak rule date.

However, over history there's been many young skaters to compete at the Olys. Laurance Owen went to the 1960 Olys when she was 15 and a half. I believe in the old days there were 12 year olds competing.

However, is it a rule that only 15 year olds win Oly gold medals. Shizuka Arakawa can tell you no at the ripe young age of 25.

  5. i think u have to be sixteen before a certain time of the year to be able to qualify

  6. The youngest in the course of 10 years has been Tara Lipinski. She was 14 on the July before the competition. But sweetie, if you still call it "ice skating" not "figure skating" I really don't know, but I'm sure that just to appeal to others you wrote ice skating, but start saying "figure skating" please!

Good Luck on Your Dreams! Shoot for the moon, if you miss, you'll land amoung the stars!
