ok I hope your asking School cuase thats age 3-4 for preschool and 5 for kindergarten. if your not talking school then what are you talking about?

To start kindergarten - the child should be 5 years old by October 1st of that school year.  That's for most schools... Some schools - like private or religious ones have a date later in the year.  Some say 5 years old by December 31st of that school year.

As far as pre-school goes... anything before that age (3-4 yrs old).  Some pre-schools are also a daycare provider and they will take the child at pretty much any age... inquire with the specific school you are looking at.
