How old do you have to be to handle a knife in a restaurant in PA?

There are usually age restrictions on the meat cutting machine in restaurants. I know the minimum age in Maryland is 16, however I knew of a place that had a 15 year old cook who just wasn't allowed to use it. Check with your health or restaurant association or just call some restaurants and ask.

1, if the parents say it's ok and the kid just uses it to bang on his high chair tray.

Most places don't have age requirements on knives.  I hope some training is going on before turning someone loose to cut bread or meat in a restaurant.  I guess 15 is a safe age to ballpark it.  I know many states have laws about being a certain age to work a meat/cheese slicer though. Good luck and watch out for those fingers.
