How old do you have to be to instruct someone with a permit?

I'm in California. I only remember people telling me that it was 25 but then I heard it changed so I'm not sure anymore.

If you have creditable sources let me know so I could be sure.

okay there is two different driving licenses out der. one for 16 yr old, and 1 for 21 yr olds. i thought u need the 21 year old license

In my state, Maine, you need to be 20, and have had your license in good standing (no parking tickets, moving violations, absolutely clean) for 1 year. And you could ride shotty to a person on their permit.

In Cali it's most likely different. I wouldn't have any trouble believing you had to be 21 or 25. Your best bet would be to go to your local police department and ask them, or call them at their non-emergency number. They'll be more then happy to tell you the real truth.

    * Teens who have had their driver's license less than one year may not drive between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless the driver is accompanied by licensed driver age 25 or older. There may be exceptions for a job, school, a family need, or a medical emergency.

You have to have had your license for a certain number of years or months i think.

where i live you have to be 21 and you hve been driving for 2-3 years i think. the 21 part is right though :)
