How old do you have to be to start working for the city of chicago ?

You can start work at 16 if your parents sign a work permit.Usually you can get them from the school you attend. Your work can not interfere with your school work and you can't work past a certain time. Check with your school counselor. My daughter wanted to work at 15 and that's what I had to do. Good Luck!
