How old do you have to be to start working in California?

It used to be 16 is it 18 now?

nope its sixteen but you need a school work permit or else no one will hire you if they are legit. and to get a work permit you need to have a 2.0 or better

I do believe you can get a "work permit" from your high school to work, but if you don't have that permit, think it is 18.
