How old do you have to be to take a direct access test for a motorbike in the UK...?

...and what other things do i need to do before i can take this test? what size bike does taking this test allow me to ride exactly? I'm 17 so am I old enough?

  1. You need to be 21 to take direct access test, if you take the standard test on a 125, which is all you can take at 17, you're restricted to 33 horse power for 2 years, but you can get almost any bike restricted.

    You still get some quick bikes that are 33bhp and these are better than a restricted one , plus the test is changing in october to include off road part and will be more expensive and require a bit more training
