NHL scouts start scouting out players usualy in their mid teens, but you cant play in the NHL until you are 18.

to the guy above me, were not in 1942 anymore...the rules have changed

u can get drafted when ur 18 but u rarely ever see someone 18 years old in the nhl, unless ur like crosby.  most 18 year olds get drafted then go to college or play in the minor leagues.

lol u dont try out buddy. you get scouted and to tell you the truth he prob aint gonna make it. first you have to have very good grades and you have to be a VERY VERY VERY good player
