How old do you have to be to use a motor boat in the uk?

i am thinking of buying a boat to use on the river thames, but im only 15

its common sense.if you can handle the boat then go for it but first take professional day skippers course from a tech college. this isn,t mandatory but well advised, it will help you in navigation, engine problems, safety in the water etc.

if you are in doubt ask the Thames River Authority.

you are old enough but take an RYA course , approx £200 , many launch sites around our way (north wales) are now insistant that you produce this document before they will allow you to launch .  good luck
