How old do you have to be to wear contact lenses in the uk?

i am 14 and i have worn contacts many times before (non prescription) and i think need glasses ? how old do i have to be >>??

  1. There's no age limit...

    (I've fitted contacts to a six-month old baby, but that was a special case)

    It's a matter of suitability, responsibilty, and funding.

    It's like having a pet.  They need looking after, even on the days you don't want to be bothered, and if you mistreat or neglect them they're likely to bite you.

    And, if you have an Rx developing, you'll need at least back-up glasses anyway, so assessment for that should come first.

    If you only need to wear glasses occasionally, contacts might not be worth the bother, yet.
