I'm taking bronze medallion this summer. i'm 14.

How long/what other courses do i have to take before i can become a lifeguard?

  1. My cousin just got highered he is 15. You get a head start if you do junor life gaurds.

  3. Depending on your facility and where you live it will depend on how old you have to be. You will have to take the lifeguard certification class, and be certified to become a lifeguard. For most facilities you have to be 15 or 16. Since you are 14, most facilities offer a guard start program that you can take to prepare you to be a lifeguard.
