Depends on what state you live in.  Some states allow you to work up to 20 hours a week once you're 14 if you can get a work permit (which is free), from your school proving that you aren't a truancy problem.  Other states it's 16, but same deal... you likely will need a work permit from your current school office (but it's no hassle to get so long as you're passing your classes).
