  1. you can always go and volunteer? unlikely that you will get paid.

  2. You probably need to be at least 16 to be an "employee."  However, with your parents' or legal guardian's permission, you can volunteer your time, and gain lots of practical experience.  If you are part of a group (Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts) or are interested in helping on a larger scale, why not call the shelter closest to you and ask what you can do to help them, either by raising funds with your school or by organizing a volunteer group?

You can research fundraising ideas (many direct sales companies offer fundraisers; some without inflating prices) ~ or create your own: bake sale, car wash or raking leaves / shoveling driveways events, etc.  Good luck!

  3. 14 is a good age to volunteer, its good for finding a job easier.

  4. They may not be able to pay  you as an employee.

But they can probably accept you as a volunteer.

After a year or two, they may be able to hire you.

  5. I think there are laws about being employed before 16. You might go to the shelter and ask if you can volunteer.

  6. it's volunteer and you're 14, so there will be something they can find for you to be able to do.  plus you'll be able to pet the animals, which is what the animals really need.
