How old do you have to be to work at...?

I am turning 15 years old on May 6th. I would like to get a part time job very soon. How old do you have to be to work at Hollywood Video and the Family Dollar Store? Plus any job suggestions would be nice.

walmart hires the cart crew at 16

you really can't get a legal job at 15....

You shouldn't work at a dollar store, you only get paid $1 when some one buys one thing!! You shud work at like a more popular place like Texas Road House cuz everyone goses there and its always crowded so you will earn more money. [just work at a place where alot of people go] Hope this helps! [=  :D

LOL IF YOU DID WORK AT A DOLLAR STORE YOU DO NOT GET PAID A DOLLAR DESPITE WHAT YOU WERE TOLD IN THAT ANSWER.... SOME PPL JUST DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE WORKING WORLD.... ANYWAYS IN MOST PLACES YOU CANNOT START WORKING ANYWHERE AT 15, BUT AROUND HERE YOU CAN BAG GROCERIES FOR A SUPERMARKET AT 15... TRY AND SEE IF THEY WILL DO THAT... IF NOT THE ONLY OTHER THING IS BABYSITTING.

It would definitely vary on your state. Where I live, you can start work at 14 with a parents permission and with the release form. I worked at a dollar store a few years ago that hired 15 year olds so that also depends on where you live. You could try a fast food place like dairy queen or McDonald's or something like that~~nothing glamorous but its extra cash. Also, something I've done is lawn mowing. People pay good money to have someone else come in every week and mow their lawns! Or you could try a dog walking business or something along those lines.

In the United States you are required by federal law to be at least 16 years old, or 14 if your family is in dire financial trouble and you need a job to stay off the streets.

At 15 you can work a numerous places. You may have to get a minors work release, which devoids an employer from liability if you are injured at work (their insurance will not cover you).  

You can get a work release at the court house. It will have to be notarized. I cleaned houses and sold Olympia Sales Club items when I was younger to make extra money

You will have to get a work permit.  (My High school had them available for us).  There are regulations on how many hours you can work per day and per week, but these will vary state to state.
